Utrecht 2003 - 3

Next up is the MAN-stand. Beside the stand there was this ballasted prime mover of E. Lafeber from Gouda. It was coupled to a Nooteboom 10 axled drawbar trailer. Here we can clearly see why so many dutch heavy transport vehicles are equiped with low or flattened rooftops.

At MAN there was this 8x4 with a Effer 1150. Pay attention to the low-profile tyres that help keep the chassis height low.

Beside MAN’s new 41.660 they are also offering a lighter unit. This MAN 41.530 in 8x4 layout is available with and without a torque converter. This demo doesn’t have a torque converter. It can also be equiped with the 480 hp engine.

Behind the cab we don’t find a large tower but a small rack with the 970 liter dieseltank. The raised exhaust on this unit also isn’t that spectacular as the 660’er.

Depending on the configuration this truck has an allowed gross weight of 90 until 160 Tonnes.

Scania T144G-530, also belonging to Pillen.

Mercedes Titan 4153 of Schot transport. It serves as a ballasttruck for their LTM1300. Click here for more photos.
