Photographing at the Iveco stand was prohibited, but some interesting Iveco's could be seen at the show anyway. These 2 army models where parked at the Soframe stand, both are M320.45 W 8x8 trucks. They belong to a larger order of the french army, that also consisted of 50 units of this recovery truck. In the french army they are called PPLD what stands for Porteur Polyvalent Lourd de Dépannage. |

The recovery unit is a Jige MR30. This offers a heavy recovery arm at the rear, that has to be able to lift a variety of vehicles of the french army. Furthermore it has got a 18 tons winch. The entire unit stays within a 32 tons limit, meaning it can still be transported by air or amphibious vehicles. The vehicles that are to heavy to be lifted, can be towed by triangle towbar. There weight can be up to 50 tonnes. |
|
The crane can lift a load of up to 15 tons, it will be used for recovery and for maintenance jobs. The outreach is 7,6 meter where it can still lift 5,4 tons. |
|
The cab is the special military version of Iveco, also sold under the Astra name. It is a armoured version. |

The 2nd vehicle on the stand is the so called PPLOG (Porteur Polyvalent Logistique). These are equiped with a Marrel hookloader. This one also has got the container attachment at the front, aswell as the rolls at the rear. 150 of these units where deliverd so far, an order for 250 more has already been placed. These have got an armoured cab, the new ones will have the standard cab. |

At the stand of Marrel/Fassi another PPLOG could be seen, practically identical to the unit at the Soframe stand. |

At the stand of Drehtainer, a supplier of military containers, stood this interesting Iveco Trakker 8x8. It only has got a frame with twistlocks for containers, the red frame is already part of the Drehtainer equipment. The Trakker has got armoured cab that was built by KMW. |
