Beside the Mercedes Actros tractors, Daher had also brought this nice Mercedes SK3250 to the site. This is a truck that still dates back to the DB Rail era and is still in active service.

The Mercedes has got the 500 hp V8 and a WSK400 in the driveline. It was built by NAW in Switzerland.

One feature of this SK is that is equiped with a heavy winch in the middle of the tower. Here we can see the cable going through the rolls.

At the back of the truck the cable comes out of the chassis. With this winch they can, for example, tow transformers to their final position, after they have been unloaded on special roller platforms.

The exhaust got modified because of the winch. Normally it stands on the right side in the tower, but now it runs underneath and comes out on this side. Behind the tower they installed a small Atlas crane that can assist in all kinds of work. In the ballast box they cary some tools and also a small generator.

A nice classic truck that is still in active duty, and with the heavy couplings it can even help during transports if that is required.
