Volvo FH16-610 8x4 heavy transport tractor of Erik Eg Rahbek from Brande (DK).

Remarkble is the very short wheelbase of this tractor. It is equiped with the extra high XL roof.

The base for this truck is a standard 6x4 tractor that was converted (probably at OA Opbyg) to a 8x4 tractor. The 2nd front axle ist liftable. The fifth wheel is cardanic.

Because of the short wheelbase everything has to be placed behind the cab. Here they mounted some toolboxes and at the bottom the dieseltank (the fill-pipe can be seen near the air lines).

Legally allowed total weight of the tractor 29,5 tonnes, I don’t know how much this may be with a permit. The own weight of the tractor is about 12 tonnes.

It is only used as a tractor, there is no drawbar coupling. It is used mainly to transport parts of windmills.
