This Volvo FH12-460 8x4 belongs to the company Walter Meier Transporte AG from Würenlingen (CH).

The tractor was taken into service in 2006 and is equiped with a Fassi 1100.

When building the tractor a low empty weight was important. This way they’ve chosen the day-cab which also gave the opportunity for a shorter wheelbase. Furthermore they didn’t order planetary-rear axles.

The Fassi 1100 is a 8x extending model with an outreach of 19,65 meters. The lifting capacity of this crane is 86 ton/mtr.

With the 6x extending jib the outreach is enlarged to 31,5 meter. With another 3 manual extensions the crane lift 330 kg at 37 meters distance.

A winch has been mounted on the crane. At this side hangs the dieseltank between the axles, the oiltank is standing between the raised exhaust and the crane.

At the front of the frame another outrigger has been mounted. The chassis hasn’t been strengthened. As Volvo can deliver double innerlinings in it’s chassis all the way to the front, a considerable amount of pressure can be handled by this outrigger.
