This is the new Scania recovery truck of Viking in Hamar.

It's a Scania R650 10x4 with regular high cab.

There are sideway outriggers hidden behind the 1st part of the body. These offer a 5 meter wide support base that provides stability during lift- and winch work.

The long wheelbase also gives stability while driving with a truck on the arm. Also the ballast that is mounted behind the cab offers stability and a load on the front axles durin towing.

An Omars 120T recovery unit was installed. This can lift up to 30 ton at 3,3, meters on the lower arm. The maximum lenght is 16,5 meter with 8 tons capacity.

In the top of this arm they installed a 2nd crane boom with 2 sheeves for the winch cables. This boom extends 6,7 meter with 9 tons capacity. The rear also has 2 outriggers, these provide a support base of 3,6 meter width.

A very nice addition to the fleet!
