Scania P124G-400 - Van Elk

And again a Scania of Van Elk. This time it is a P124G-400 with a 8x4 axleconfiguration. This truck came to collect the 229D that was delivered by the 143E Torpedo of Van Elk.

Unfortunately, the good camera was not availble at this day :-((

With only a 400 hp engine this truck is pretty light for its job, but with a P-cab it was the maximum availble at that time (without adjustments). On these pictures the truck is on its way with a 3-axled Nooteboom lowloader, but later they added a 2-axled Jeepdolly to it. Then the 400 hp will be barely enough.

The Scania is only slightly modified for its job. The roof has been flattened and behind the cab we find a dieseltank and a securitystrut.

The axle layout isn’t the optimum, but it is the standard layout as provided by Scania.
