The company STMO from Sartrouville (Paris) owns this interesting Scania P124G-420 in 8x2*6 layout. |
STMO is a machinery moving company, that is why this Scania is equiped with a heavy Heila crane. It is a HLR 170-5RS, a crane with a maximum lifting capacity of 150 ton/mtr. |
The crane extends 5x hydraulically and is mounted at the center of the truck, it can’t transport any load. |
Only 1 axle is driven, this isn’t a problem as the truck is mostly used in buildings. The crane is laying in transportposition here, it cannot fold together. The steering rear axle and the relatively short wheelbase give a good manoeuvrability in buildings. |
The 6 outriggers provide good stability, also to the rear. At the same time some ballast above the front outriggers provide more stability when working to the rear. |
At this side of the crane there is a seat for the crane-driver. The own weight of the truck is 31,6 tonnes. |
A big oiltank is mounted above the front outriggers, below the crane boom we see the heavy winch. |
A very nice crane truck suits its purpose. |
The lifting table of this crane that can lift 11 tonnes at a distance of 11,18 meters ! |
Many thanks to STMO for co-orporation |
