This Scania T143E-500 in 8x4 configuration is owned by Spreen from De Lier. Normally this truck is coupled to a 5-axled Nooteboom lowloader with a 2-axled Jeepdolly, but on this day it had only a 2-axle Nooteboom lowloader coupled to it. |
This truck is a already a somewhat older unit, but is still looking immaculate. The excavator it has loaded weighs about 22 tonnes, which schouldn’t be a problem for this combination. |
Behind the cab we see a dieseltank and a strut to protect the roof. |

During it’s second visit this truck had it’s 7-axled Nooteboom lowloader coupled. It consists of a 2-axled Jeepdolly and a 5-axled lowloader. The load is a Caterpillar 345B L.
Unfortunatelly the good camera wasn’t available this day, so the images are taken with a cheap camera. |
Here we can see the advantage of a Jeepdolly. The excavator is positioned in such a way, that a large amount of it’s weight will be leaning on the tractor. The dolly will take up a specific amount of this weight, which prevents the overloading of the tractor unit. |
This time the truck was even equipped with a nice rack for additional headlights. |
The roof of this truck has been slighty cut of to make room for the booms of machinery. On the Jeepdolly we find a aggregate that provides a oilflow. This is necesarry if you want to steer, or adjust the suspension, by hand. |
The 345B L has some construction differences with the 350L. Therefore you don’t need to remove the stick-cylinder. The excavator was tranported together with it’s two buckets, one on the gooseneck and the other on the back. |
When the trailer is empty they lift 2 axles to reduce the wear of the tires. |
