Scania R480 - Kjell Öya
At the Lastbil 2008 stood this very nice Scania R480 10x4 of Kjell Öya from Sweden.

It is a 5-axled tractor with a Palfinger PK150002 crane on it. The entire installation was delivered by SWS.

The crane can also lift to the front, therefore they have mounted "hidden" outriggers directly behind the front bumper. The chassis between the crane and these outriggers has also been reinforced so that enough lifting capacity is available to the front. (Legs are hanging free here as the crane is rotated to the rear)

Behind the crane stands an open box that is used to store the lifting materials. It looks like a demountable floor can also be used to convert the tractor into a normal truck.

The crane is a PK150002 in the G version, which means that it extends 8x hydraulically to 18,8 meter. The 6x hydraulically extending PJ170E jib with 1 manual extension gives a total outreach of 33,6 meter.

This tractor will be transporting and installing a lot of generators. A larger part of this work will be carried out in Norway, where it is allowed to run with a total weight of 60 tonnes. The own weight of the tractor is about 38 to 39 tonnes.

For me this was the most interesting crane truck of the exhibition. The combination of a heavy crane, a 5-axled tractorchassis and front legs with strengthened chassis hasn't been done before!!
