Scania R144G-460 8x4 tractor of P.E. Kristensen Maskintransport from Roskilde (DK).

The tractor is coupled to a very short extendable 3-axled Broshuis semi-lowloader.

A Palfinger PK 120000 G is mounted behind the cab.

It is the G-model, which means that it extends 8x to a length of 18,8 meter. The it still lifts 4,25 tonnes. This crane is also equiped with 2 manual extensions which increase the outreach to almost 24 meters. The capacity at this distance is 3 tonnes. The maximum lifting capacity of this crane is 95 ton/mtr.

The crane has 4 support legs. 2 at the crane and 2 at the end of the chassis.

Here we see how far the fifth wheel is mounted to the rear to get a good weight distribution. The front axles are already maxed out because of the crane and therefore cannot take any of the load that is pushing on the fifth wheel.

A winch has been mounted on the crane.

A container was picked up at a rental company. The crane is being set up.

The advantage of the remote control is that the driver doesn’t has to stay near the crane but can walk around freely around the object that has to be lifted or, like for instance here can connect the load to the crane himself.
