Scania R124C-420 - Jens Konrad
In 2004 I could photograph this very nice Scania R124 of Jens Konrad from Silkeborg (DK).
It's a Scania R124C-420 8x4 tractor with a day-cab. The C stands for the Construction chassis, meant for the heavy applications.
An Effer 1150 was installed onto this tractor unit, a crane that could be seen a lot those days in Denmark. What we notice here, is that the crane is not mounted straight behind the cab, but a little further back. This is better for the weight distribution, also now a large storage compartment fits here.
This whole side is filled with storgage space. By the way, the oiltank and dieseltank where mounted between the storage compartments that are mounted behind the cab.
The top side of the chassis is compelety covered by steel plates, a typical danish style.
Here we see a flatbed that can be put on the chassis. At the front we see 2 hooks and 2 struts at the rear, with these it connects to the chassis. The jib is on this flatbed here.
The Effer 1150 in 6S version has an outreach of nearly 17 meter with 4600 kg capacity. With the 4S jib it then reaches 27,4 meter with 1650 kg.
This side of the chassis was filled with another storage compartment and a box for chains.
A very good looking truck, just a typical danish crane truck. It is still in operation in Denmark, it's now working at a steel company.
