In the fleet of Niels Jensen Maskintransport from Ormslev (DK - near Arhus) we find this very nice Scania P124C-420 in 8x4 layout.

It is coupled to a 3-axled Pacton drawbar trailer en is mainly used for the moving and installation of heavy machines.

The lifting of heavy machines can be done by the rear mounted Effer 100N.

It is an Effer 100N 4S, meaning that it extends hydraulically to a length of 9,41 meters. This is a distance that is usually enough for machinery movements. The crane has a maximum lifting capacity of 97 ton/mtr.

3,96 mtr = 23,5 ton
5,26 mtr = 18,1 ton
6,56 mtr = 14,6 ton
7,88 mtr = 12,3 ton
9,41 mtr = 10,1 ton
With 2 manual extension it can reach a length of 16,3 meter, there it still lifts 4,5 tons.

The drawbar trailer has a loading capacity of 18,4 tons. Standard equipment of a machinery mover is a forklift truck, here a Hyster unit is loaded onto the trailer.

An Effer 100N is a crane that doesn’t fold together like normal loader cranes. Therefore it is being put onto the loading floor during transport. As a result of that the truck is not able to transport any load. On the truck we find a lot of equipment that is necessary for machinery movement, for instance a spreader that can lift 20 tons.

There has been a specific choice for this type of crane and truck. The result is a height of only 3 meters, this way it can get into most buildings. The rear mounted crane is ideal for lifting very heavy parts directly behind the truck.

An interesting and very rare vehicle, made especially for it’s every day job.
