Scania R480 - Eilola
This Scania R480 belongs to the finish company Eilola (Eilolan Nosto ja Kuljetus Oy) from Porvoo.
The truck is an 8x2*6 with a liftable rear axle, a manouevrable chassis.

Behind the cab stands a Fassi 1100 in 6x extending version. This gives an outreach of 15,5 meters where nearly 5 tonnes can be lifted. The L616 jib also extends 6x and gives a total outreach of 27,55 meters.

This Scania be a a tractor aswell as a truck. Interesting feature is the loading floor, it isn't demountable but it tips over and stays connected to the truck. This way the truck always had both options available.

Here we see the system. The hinches are mounted at the end of floor, above the chassis. When the floor is tilted up as can be seen here, the fifth wheel becomes availble for pulling a trailer. When the floor is tilted down, it supports on the last piece of chassis that can be seen here. The fifth wheel than hangs underneath the floor.

When it is used as a truck it can also pull a drawbar trailer with the installed coupling.

The Scania also has a reinforced chassis to the front so that the crane can be operated with heavy loads to the front. Because Scania's are a bit difficult when it comes to full chassis reinforcements, they used a different method here. The reinforcements where constructed in such a way that most of it runs underneath the chassis, at a level where no parts are in the way. A nice solution because you don't have to demount everything, the disadvantage is that the construction hangs rather near to the street.
