In the dusk of the evening I could photograph this Scania R164G-580 8x2 of Arrighetti from Buscate (near Milan - I). |
|
The company Arrighetti is specialised in the the transport of machines, that is why this Scania is equiped with a heavy Italian Heila HLR 140-5R crane. The crane cannot fold together like other knuckelbooms. During transport it lies on the loading floor, like can be seen here, or it is being put down beside the chassis (the opening for that is clearly visible here between the front of the floor and the 2nd front axle). |
|
This Heila extends 5x to a length of 11,24 meters. This is the lifting table:
4,24 mtr - 30 ton
5,64 mtr - 24 ton
7,04 mtr - 19 ton
8,44 mtr - 15 ton
9,84 mtr - 12 ton
11,24 mtr - 10 ton
This gives the crane a impressive maximum lifting capacity of 135 ton/mtr. |
|
The loading box is also the support frame. The thick beams under the box go all the way from the crane to the rear outriggers. |
|
The entire support frame is mounted on top of the truck chassis, instead of welding it around it. This way of constructing is easier than. The floor of the loading box is heigher than normal, but as it isn't used here to transport a load, it doesn't realy matter. The own weight of the truck is around 32 tonnes, which means that it can't carry a load anymore (32 tonnes is limit withour permission in Italy for 4-axled trucks). |
|
The Scania chassis is a 8x2*6, the first 2 and the rear axle steer, and the 3rd axle is driven. A good choice for machinery transport, as it is often very cramped in halls. The air suspension can be used to lower the truck, in case a door is rather low. |
|
A very nice crane truck that can handle the heavy machinery-work. The crane is also a nice deviation off all the well-known european brands. |
Many thanks to Mr. Arrighetti for the co-orporation |
