This Mercedes Actros 4154 8x4 belongs to the company H. Mahr from Benken in Switzerland.

It is equiped with the very first Palfinger PK150002 that is delivered in Switzerland. It is the “G” model that extends 8x to a length of 18,8 meters. There it still lifts 4,88 tonnes.

It is also equiped with the PJ170E jib. This one enlarges the outreach by 12,4 meter to a bit more than 31 meters. The jib can lift a maximum of 5 tonnes (jib retracted and main crane not at full outreach) and can lift a bit more than 1 ton at full length. The maximum lifting torque of this crane is 106 ton/mtr.

The truck has a loading box that can be taken off. Below the box is a fifth wheel so that the truck can be used as a tractor.

The truck has been built up by Walser Fahrzeugbau from Rankweill in Austria.

Here we have a better view on the crane. At Palfinger cranes the jib isn’t mounted to it, but is shoved into the main crane. Any mounted manual extensions have to be removed first. Pay attention to the height of the support frame, a necessity with cranes of this size.
