Mercedes Actros 4151 - Hamburger
This is the Mercedes Actros of Hamburger GmbH, a construction company from Mammendorf (D).

An Actros 4151 8x6 chassis was used, meaning it's a 41 ton frame with the 510 hp V8 engine. Driven are the rear axles and the 1st front axle. They chose the short daycab, to keep room for the rest of the body. The crane is a Palfinger PK150002 in H version. That has, as you can see here, 9 hydraulic telescopic parts.

From the side you notice the very robust subframe for the Palfinger PK150002 crane. This frame was built by the austrian company FMG Gußwerk and offers 360° stability for this crane.

At the rear of the chassis it has heavy outriggers that extend sideways. The distance of the crane to these outriggers is enough to offer full capacity to the rear. On top of them they mounted a toolbox.

The outriggers on this FMG frame are square and have the cylinders on the outside, similar to many MKG cranes. An interesting option for such a big crane is the raised seat with controls. The controls are not hydraulic, but it is a second remote that is mounted here. From this spot the driver has a higher viewing angle of often a better view of the work site. This seat is covered by a Limak folding cabin.

The outriggers at the front are mounted in a V-shape, meaning they also extend to the front. The 4x extending outriggers give a width of 7,2 meters.

Here we see that the outriggers don't extend past the front of the truck. On top of these outriggers there is a small flatbed that offers storage space for all kind of utilities.

Here the concrete bucket was lifted of the flatbed. They where installing a basement for a new home here. The Palfinger in H version reaches horizontaly up to 21,2 meters and can lift 3,98 tons there. With that it is well suited for the usual works on this kind of construction sites. The maximum capacity is 40 tons directly beside the crane, but more realistic is the the capacity at 10 to 15 meters where it will lift loads between 5 and 9 tons. This crane was deliverd without a jib, but it does have 2 manual parts. One is installed here, the other is hanging at this side of the subframe above the rear axles.

A very interesting crane truck with it's 8x6 chassis and rear mounted crane on special subframe. A good combination for the diversity of works that have to be done on these construction sites.
