In 2004 Jenniskens crane rental from Nijmegen (NL) bought this MAN TGA 41.660 tractor to pull the ballasttrailer for their Demag AC 665. |
This 660’er is the 20th that is made and the first one that was sold in The Netherlands. It is, just like the other TGA’s 660, equiped with the 18 liter V10 engine that produces 660 hp and 2700 Nm. The gearbox is a full-automatic Tipmatic (ZF AS-Tronic) with a WSK 440 torque converter. |
Behind the cab is a tower with raised exhausts, dieseltank, oiltank, air filters and the additional cooling for the engine and the torque converter/retarder. |
Remarkable thing of the tower is the free space above the dieseltank. It is there because this trucks doesn’t has trailerhydraulic-system and therefore the oiltank can be smaller. The smaller tank that is there, only has the oil that is needed for the hydraulic cooling fan of the large cooler on top of the tower.
Behind it hangs a Nooteboom OVB-102-06, a 6-axled ballasttrailer of which the 1st axle and the last 3 are steerable. |
2nd Remarkable feature is the, again different, steps/underrun protection on this TGA.
Here the truck is loaden with all the ballast of the crane (70 tonnes), the spreading plates and other small parts. |
