The italian company F.lli Zanoletti from Bergamo owns this Iveco Sivi tractor. |
It is a Trakker with the 13 liter Cursor engine that delivers 540 hp. It's the 8x6 version which is based on the 6x6 Trakker.
Between the engine and gearbox hangs a WSK440, a hydraulic torque converter from ZF.
Behind the cab stands a tower that holds everything that doesn't has a place at the chassis anymore. At the bottom is a large dieseltank, beside it are 2 toolboxes and the mufler. Above the tank lies the battery compartment, beside that there is a (hardly visible) heat exchanger for the WSK. Above those are some air barrels. To the far left there are 2 coolers and a cooling fan, one is an extra radiator for the cooling water and the other is an oil-air cooler for the WSK.
The rear side of the chassis has a heavy drawbar coupling so that the tractor can also be used as a ballasted prime mover. Here we see that coupling, a type that is rather common in Italy.
The truck is on display at the Edil fare in Bergame at the following pictures, now it was ballasted. It was displayed by the local Iveco dealer, Auto Industriale.
The ballast consists of several steel plates. The one at the bottom is connected to the chassis with twist locks.
The truck has a similar heavy coupling at the front bumper, it can be used for pushing a heavy transport.
To me these heavy Iveco 8x6's are still among the most beautifull heavy transport tractors!!
