Sivi-Iveco Trakker 560 - Spiegl

The company Spiegl from Pettnau (A) is known for their work in the mountains. For these heavy tasks they have bought themselves this new heavy transport tractor, a Sivi-Iveco Trakker 560 in 8x6 layout.

The Trakker was modified by Astra in Piacenza, originaly it was a 6x6 chassis. They installed the 2nd front axle and a WSK440 torque converter + Ecosplit gearbox.

The loads that Spiegl transports usually go over gravel mountain roads, therefore they mostly use more than 1 truck. This heavy coupling on the bumper is perfect for pulling with another unit.

The wheelbase of an 8x6 is still rather short, so that gives enough manouavrability on curvy roads.

The tower holds the additional cooling for the engine and gearbox. Furthermore we find some air barrels, a dieseltank, the mufler and some storage boxes.

They installed the largest version of the narrow cab, the wider Stralis cab is not available on the Trakker. The whole truck was painted in the nice Spiegl colors, including the chassis and axles.

By now the truck has already several heavy jobs. Below is a movie that shows a job like that, it's working together there with another Trakker, an 8x8 with Effer crane.

In the background you can see the nice surroundings where this truck has to work. This is the only one of its kind in Austria, a nice addition to the Spiegl fleet!
