Ginaf X-5250 TS - Van Hooft

Early 2003 this Ginaf X-5250 TS was added to the fleet of Van Hooft Transport from Hoevelaken (NL). It is a 10x4 truck with 3 steered frontaxles and a hydraulic steered rear axle.

This truck is equiped with an Effer 1250-6S, a crane with a lifting capacity of 94 ton/mtr. Because the crane is mounted above it’s front outriggers, it can be built up very compact. They have chosen a day-cab. This makes it possible to mount the crane in such a way that the front axle also get’s a good part of the own weight of the crane.

The crane has 6 hydraulic extentions that give an outreach of 16,86 meter. At this distance it can still lift 4,76 tons. Directly above the floor, at 4 meter distance, the crane can lift a maximum of 22,7 tons. With the manual extension the outreach can be enlarged to 19,35 meter. The oiltank is mounted between the crane and the floor. At the front of the floor we see a spreader, good for lifting 20 tons.

The last 3 axles have a larger distance between them. This gives them higher axle loads (10 tons for the non-driven and 2 x 11,5 for the rear axles). The truck is mainly used for the transport of transformerstations, a couple of them are standing beside the truck. The empty weight of the truck is 30,4 tons, which leaves a payload of almost 20 ton (in Holland - 50 tons total is permitted on a single chassis).
