This DAF CF 85.480 8x4 tractor belongs to the pilling and foundation company Van Halteren Infra B.V. from Bunschoten in the Netherlands. |
At first sight it looks like a normal tractor, until you get a bit closer... |
... then you see that the roof of this CF is much lower than a normal roof of a DAF CF 85 |
Here a better view on the cab. The roof is lowered by Van Halteren, in coorperation with a local truckdealer. Now the booms of foundation equipment can be put over the roof of the DAF during transport. That isn’t possible with the normal CF, those are to high. |
Behind the cab is strut to protect the roof for these booms. Also we find a dieseltank and a small storage box there. The axle layout is a bit weird, it’s not a 2+2 but also not really a 1+3. |
Behind the tractor hangs a Nooteboom lowloader with 6 pendular axles (3 axle lines, 2 axles per line), that can carry 16 tonnes per axle line (in Holland). |
Here it is clearly visible how low the cab has become. A different windshield is one of the changes. |
The truck is mainly being used for the transport of their own piling / foundation equipment and excavators throughout the Benelux. |
