Here you see an areal photo of the Friedrichshafen harbour. The lift took place in the red circle.
The ship had arrived at night, it is transported on 20 Scheuerle axles. This combination get's it own report.
Around noon both cranes where ready for the lift.
A better view of the ship. The hull of the boat is completely flat, so the ship fits perfectly on the trailer. The ship has got a weight of about 100 tons. The lifting points on the deck make it very easy to lift the ship.
The crane has extended it's boom further then Paule. It has to lift the front of the ship, which is lighter than the rear. Here 2 strings are enough, meaning they are lifting less then 50 tons.
As the rear of the ship is wider and also houses the propulsion, this is heavier then the front. So they used 4 strings on this side to do the lifting.
The ship is lifted of the trailer... |
...and then Wiesbauer rotates first to the water... |
...after which Paule also follows. |
Shortly after that the ship has it's first contact with the Bodensee. |
Wiesbauer immediately began taking the crane down, beginning with the ballast. |
During that, Paule went on and took the upper deck of another trailer... |
...and installed this on the ship. |
A nice job! |
