Egger - Open day - 2012 - 3
Beside regular cranes Egger also owns a set of truck mounted cranes.

This a very special one, as this truck was built by Toni Maurer. A regular MAN TGS 35.480 chassis was taken and stripped of all it's components. These where then mounted back on the new frame that was welded by Maurer. This is very stiff boxed shape frame that provides a low chassis height aswell as a solid base for mounting a crane.

A Fassi F660.26 with a L426 jib was mounted onto that frame. It can lift about 16 ton max. and reaches up tot 33,5 meter far.

Here it is equiped with a loading box, but it can also be used as a tractor unit. Because of the low construction, they reached a fifth wheel heigt of 1,07 meter. This way it can be used with a 1-axled citytrailer that still has enough loading height for most machinery. The allowed fifth wheel load on a 4-axled truck makes it possible to transport and install machines in one move. The floor height of the loading box that you see here is 1 meter, so this is also very suitable for transporting machinery.

Maurer also shortened the wheelbase, making it a very manoeuvrable 8x4.

As the chassis runs all the way to the front, the crane is now stable all around with this 5th outrigger in the front. This project was realised by ATS-Truck-Service and CTC.

This crane unit was somewhat hidden behind stuff, as it was used for a game of stacking beer crates.

It's a Volvo FH500 8x4*4 with a rear mounted Fassi F455.26 with L214 jib. With this truck they also tried to get a very low construction.

A somewhat older MAN TGA 25.460 6x2 with a 37 t/m Fassi crane and the already mentioned citytrailer.

A newer Mercedes Actros 6x2 with a 23 t/m Palfinger crane.
The heaviest knuckleboom from the fleet is this Volvo FH480 10x4 with a Palfinger PK100002.
The truck also is reinforced to the front, a thing that is the easiest to do on a Volvo truck. The crane is also all-around stable.

This crane truck has got a fixed body.
