Coiltransport: Scania R620 - Tipes

On of the specialisations of the company Tipes is the transport of rolles of steel, also called coils. This is one of the many trucks they have for this kind of work.

The tractor is a R620 in 8x4 version. It is a 6x4 that has been converted by Laxa.

They have chosen the shortest wheelbase, giving it good manoeuvrability.

Behind the cab there is a tower that stores the dieseltank, the batteries and a couple of air barrels. The Ad-Blue tank is mounted between the front axles.

The rear mudguards have been removed to avoid contact with the trailer in curves.

A 5-axled De Angelis trailer is hanging behind the tractor. The first and the last two axles are steering. The complete curtain can be slided to the front so that the trailer can be loaded quickly.

This is another coiltransporter of Tipes, a Scania R164G-580 in 6x4 layout, also coupled to a 5-axled De Angelis trailer.
