A little before 19h the transport began to drive. The first action was moving down the newly build rail platform, the ground clearance of the choke was enough in this case. |
At the first corner, the platform could not quit reach the desired steering angle, so a quick retry was necessary. These Intercombi platforms use rods for the steering system, which doesn't offer a unlimited steering angle. But it is necessary as a solid steering system for faster road going vehicles. |
Now the transport could move on and the corner was no problem anymore. The load hangs over the gras in such corners. |
The 1st platform is around the corner, the 2nd is following it's moves. Both platforms are digitaly connected to each other, so that the power demand works on both engines and power flow to the wheels is coordinated correctly. |
Right after that came another 90° corner. Here you can clearly see the advantage of having a free suspended load. |
As both platforms stay on the paved roads... |
...the load hangs far over the inner corner's gras. |
After that corner a roundabout was next, but that didn't cause any problems as well. |
And only 20 minutes later the giant had already reached the last corner that went to the substation. |
I have also took some film material of this transport, I made that into a video that you can see here: |
