Scania R530 - Palfinger PCC115002
This Scania has gotten a Palfinger PCC115002 crane on it.
It is mounted on a Scania R530 8x4 chassis and is meant for Ireland.
This crane extends 8x to 20,7 mteres with 3,4 tons capacity. With the PCJ170E jib it reaches 33,3 meter with 970kg.
The PCC115002 has got an own very stable frame with large outriggers. This frame is connected to the truck with the same couplings that are used to connect it to the crawler chassis.
It is not installed here, but 8,5 ton ballast also come with this crane.
The heavy outriggers are not only very high, but also the entire crane can slide sideways over them to get into cramped locations. As you can see, the Scania get's completely lifted of the ground. So the Scania is just the carrier, it is not part of the crane chassis.
These quick connect couplings are used to connect the crane to the truck or crawler carrier.
The crane can be used on this Scania, or for more complex jobs it can be set onto a crawler carrier. On very cramped locations the crane can even work without the carrier, just on the outriggers alone.
The tracked carrier is transported on this Nooteboom 4-axled drawbar trailer.
On this carrier the crane is only 2,1 meters wide. It has got a 110kW Caterpillar engine that enables inclinations of up to 60%.
Below is a video of this truck.
