The mining business has started to use regular trucks more and more, instead of the more costly articulated or rigid dumpers. Usually these trucks are modified version of the regulars, which makes them interesting.

At the stand of CNH you could find this Astra HD9 86 56 with big Cantoni & C tipper. This 8x6 truck has got a total weight of up to 60 tons. This is done with 9 tons front axles and 21 tons rear axles, all from Kessler. It has got the 560 hp Cursor 13 engine in Euro 6 version, combined with an AS-Tronic gearbox.

Despite the headline that I wanted to show modified trucks, I put in a articulated dumper anyway. This is the Bell B60E, an interesting unit between the regular 6x6 ADT's. It can transport 55 tons, and is a combination of rigid dumper (considering the tipper layout and 2-axle setup) and a off-road worthy articulated dumper with 4x4 drive. With that all-wheel drive it is more capable then a regular rigid dumper with rear axle drive.

Ginaf showed their top of the range, the HD5395-TS. That means: 5 axles with 3 driven. The total weight is 95 tons and the TS says "Tridem Steered". With it's total weight of 95 tons it can carry 70 tons of load in the KH-Kipper body. This trucks is not a modified regular truck, but has been built from the ground up as a mining dumper. The chassis holds a Cummings QSX15 engine with 610 hp, coupled to an AS-Tronic gearbox. The rear axles are manufactured by Sisu and all three are driven. All rear axles have got a hydro-pneumatic suspension, the last axle is hydraulically steered. Both front axles have air suspension. Behind the cab, a unit from Ford Turkey, stands a tower with the exhaust and cooling for the engine and retarder. Empty speed is 60 km/h, loaded it is limited to 40 km/h.

MAN had this export tipper parked between the halls, it's a TGS 41.400 with a heavy Meiller body.

Inside stood this interesting 6x6 TGS 33.480 with KH-Kipper. It is fitted with 16.00R20 tyres.

This heavy Zetros 4043 6x6 was parked at the Meiller stand. It's a 40 ton chassis with a M325 tipper body with 17 m3 capacity without a tailgate. This Zetros has got the heavier 430 hp engine.

Unfortunately parked in such a way that it could only be photographed from the rear, but nevertheless an interesting MAN TGS 50.480 8x8. It is equiped with a 21 m3 H436 tipper with hydraulic tailgate.

This Volvo FMX540 10x4*6 has got the new tipper model, the P560 series with a halfpipe bottom. It can hold 28,8 m3.
