Bauma 2004 - Knucklebooms

Effer

There where a lot of cranes at the Effer stand, the largest are the Effer 2200 6S/CL (154 ton/m) mounted on a DAF CF 85.430 8x4 for Israel and the new designed Effer 1750 6S (upper picture). This new crane has a maximan lifting capacity of 131 ton/m, the displayed version has a maximum length of 27 meter (15 meter main boom, the rest with the fly-jib). The crane can, in spite of it’s size, still be folded behind the cab of a truck. This makes it also suitable for tractor units. Also new is the Effer 850 6S (75 ton/m). This is the heaviest Effer that can be mounted on a regular 3-axled (tractor)chassis.

Autogru PM

At PM there was this new PM 80 SP. It is a new 80 ton/m crane. Unfortunately there where no trucks with cranes here.

Cormach

At Cormach’s stand I found this beautifull Scania R124G-470 of Giolo. It is equiped with a Cormach 180000 E, a crane with a lifting capacity of 130 ton/m. This crane cannot fold together entirely, like the smaller units can. Therefore it has the be “stored” over the loading floor, or put down verticaly beside the chassis. This crane can reach a maximum length of  40 meter when it is equiped with a fly-jib. Then it can still lift 820 kg.

Beside the Scania was this Iveco Stralis 430 8x2 with a new and very interesting Cormach 125000 E9 behind it’s cab. A crane with a lifting capacity of 125 ton/m and 9 telescopic parts. The foot of the crane has 2 parts so that the main boom doesn’t have to be mounted out of the centreline of the crane. This has advantages for the bending torques on the structure. The main boom can be folded together between the 2 parts of the crane foot.

At Cormach I also saw some other cranes. For instance this military-green 100000 E2 with 2 telescopic parts and a outreach of 7,5 meters where it lifts 10,5 tonnes. Beside that there was a 51800 E6 F134, a crane that is built the same way as the above mentioned 125000. The main boom and the fly-jib fold between the cranes-foot. The third truck on the Cormach stand was this MAN TGA 41.460 8x4 which is equiped with a Cormach 65000 E6 and a Masterlift recovery unit, which has been deliverd by Brechtel.

HMF

At HMF there where 2 Odin modells for display, unfortunately there wasn’t a Thor (72 ton/m). The Odin is a new designed 52 ton/m crane. Here we see it with the fly-jib and a specially designed worksmen-basket. Below are 2 more pictures of the second Odin on the stand.

Palfinger

The premiere at the Palfinger stand was this new PK 100002, a 92 ton/m crane. This crane has a maximum length of 22 meter, which can be increased to 32 meter with a fly jib.
